Credentials: Certified Professional Midwife, Registered Nurse, certified NRP.

Tanya’s passion for birth work began when she was in her maternity rotation in nursing school and pregnant with her first baby over 24 years ago. Upon graduation from nursing school, she worked in the hospital setting in adult care and pediatric emergency care. In 2013, Tanya’s passion for birth work was rekindled after attending a home birth and hospital birth with a couple of her friends. She began pursuing an apprenticeship in midwifery and started a birth and postpartum doula practice. Tanya became a midwife apprentice under the guidance and expertise of Mary Anne Richardson at Tender Beginnings Birth Services and finished her apprenticeship with Carol Nelson and Stacie Hunt at The Farm Midwifery Center where she gained experience and knowledge in midwifery specializing in out of hospital home births and water births. In 2017, she received her certification in midwifery from NARM and is licensed to practice in Tennessee. Tanya began Tanya Green Birth Services, LLC in 2018. In addition, to being a midwife, she has been married to her soul mate going on 26 years and they have four children and added a daughter in law to their family in September 2018. When Tanya is not spending time with her family or catching babies she enjoys being out in nature, hiking and sitting by a campfire relaxing.
